The world is getting warmer and the deserts are growing. This is a huge problem mostly in Africa and north China but also in Jordan Wadi Rum. Wadi Rum has been a desert for a long time but it has always been full of life. The last ten years the beduins of Wadi Rum have noticed that less rain falling. We want to keep this life going bit by bit. Water exist in the desert, we only have to use it very carefully and make sure it is not wasted. The farm is a great place to develope techniques for doing this, carbon-low tours is a way to decrease the carbon in the atmosphere. This is a new project runned by one big family. At this time we do not have the capital to expand and improve this project but we have the ideas and visions. We hope you will share our passion for the life in the desert.
The farm is sited near to Wadi Rum in an area called Disa. We grow mostly olives but also pomegrates, lime, grapes and figs. We don’t use and chemical fertilizer nor pesticides. We get the water from water wells. We have to be careful to use it carefully so that it doesn´t run out. We want to develope technics to improve the efficiency of the farm from these conditions.
