Arrival/Departure

Meeting point is the Visitor Centre (pictures below)

I meet and greet all our guests at Visitor Centre which is the first building when driving to Wadi Rum. It is on left side on the road and visible from the distance.

 

From/To Amman:

There isn’t a direct bus to/from Ammam. Take a Jett or Trust bus to Aqaba (4 ½ hours, JD8-10) or Petra (4 hours, JD8-10) and then change for a minibus or a taxi to Wadi Rum. Service taxis run daily between Amman and Aqaba (every hour, JD15) Please be aware there are fewer services on Fridays.  Travelling by car is straightforward, the roads are well signposted along the main highways. Please allow around 4 ½ hours for the journey if travelling on the Desert Highway and around 6 hours on scenic Kings’ Highway (should not be missed). Taxi from Amman city is JD100 and from the Queen Alia International Airport is JD90, please allow approximately 4 hours.

From/To Petra:

One small bus (Petra bus) runs daily between Wadi Rum village and Petra, except Fridays ( 6 – 6.30am, 2 hours, JD5). Please ask your hotel to help you to book it. The same bus leaves Wadi Rum to Petra around 8.30 am. If your schedule is not too tight and you are adventurous you can take a minibus to Aqaba (8.30am and 3pm, 2 ½ hours) get off at the highway junction (Ar-Rashidiyyah junction) and then hitch-hike to Wadi Rum (30 min, JD2). Journey by car takes around 1 ½ hours on Desert highway. We can arrange a driver to collect you from your hotel (JD40).

From/To Aqaba:

One minibus goes daily to Wadi Rum except Fridays (11am, 1 hour), however it is usually full with local people who are given priority. Better option is to take a minibus to the highway junction (Ar-Rashidiyyah junction) and from there hitch-hike (30 min, JD2). Travelling by car is easy, it takes 1 hour.  We can arrange a taxi on your behalf (JD20, 1 hour).

From/To Aqaba border-Eilat:

Best, quickest and easiest way is by taxi. We can arrange it for you, if you wish. The price for going to the border is JD25 and to collect you from the border is JD35 (including fee of JD10 for the car).  Journey takes around 1 hour.
